On June 2nd, 2019 my good friend Alyssa and I began our seven day hike of Canada’s West Coast Trail. After a year of talking about it, and six months of intentional planning we finally stepped off the ferry and onto the the starting point of the trail.
I had only found out about the trail about two years prior to partaking on this adventure. Somehow I had gone through most of my life not knowing about it, then suddenly I saw a few of my friends taking on this trail, and it had me wondering what it was. Then around June of 2018 I was asked by my friend Kyle if I wanted to be a part of a group he was putting together for the West Coast Trail, a goal of his. Having seen these other friends take on the trail I was instantly interested.
Over the course of the next year the trip, in terms of who would be going and when we’d be going took on many, took on many variations. In the end timing didn’t line up with Kyle’s group so I had put together my own group, which then also ended up as only being Alyssa and myself.
